I go to church regularly, so getting dressed for Easter Sunday has never really been a big deal for me. But this year Easter Sunday seemed more like an event because I gave up meat for Lent (#NoMeatForJesus) and the idea of being able to indulge again came with much anticipation. 

Anyway, I decided that I wanted a new dress for Easter, I bought one on Saturday, and guess what? I ended up wearing something I already had an my closet and I am so glad I did because this turned out to be my favorite Easter Sunday lookS. FAUX FUR

I have been on the hunt for the perfect, affordable faux fur vest, and finally after 2 years I found this burgundy beauty at American Eagle! American Eagle? Can you believe that? That is not a store I typically shop at, but through some diligent internet research, she stumbled into my life for the low-low price of $40 + free shipping. You gotta love that!

APRIL SHOWERS

Thanks for all your kind words regarding my mouth issues. My wisdom teeth are out and I've had no complications thus far, unless you count narcolepsy and fat a$$ cheeks! Ooooo, I wish I had it in me to show you my "sedated" selfies. I had no clue I had a full on photo shoot with myself after the surgery until days later when I was looking through my pics. Classic!

Like typical Bay Area weather, winter decides to show up once spring arrives, but I'm not complaining. We need the rain, and I'll take any excuse to bring out my Hunter Boa's and bubble umbrella. Have a good week. Narcolepsy is calling me...

SIMPLEMENT CHIC

Excuse my impromptu blogger break. I was working on this post last Tuesday night and thought to myself "Man, my tooth hurts. I have to put the computer down and sleep this off". Turns out not only did I need to put the computer down, but I also need to get my wisdom teeth out, and no I did not get any sleep that night. I'm terrified. Say a prayer. Wish me luck. Tell me it's going to be ok. And bare with me if I go MIA, again.

I think this outfit embodies the essence of being simply chic. It's a very understated look (jeans and a tee) made a little bit more interesting with accessories (hat, bag, heels etc). It just goes to show that you don't have to put in a lot of time, effort or money to be chic. I threw this on to go to my nephew's basketball birthday party, and while I was on the way there I found out about a day party for "big kids". Luckily I had some heels in the car and voolia...Simplement Chic.

TRIBAL SPARKLE

This cardigan is my favorite purchase from this winter season, and I got it from a place I rarely shop for clothes...TJ Maxx. I spotted the tribal-inspired print on my way to the home section, and when I tried it on I had to have it because of the slightly oversized fit. I've worn it many, many ways but dressed up with some sequins and a statement necklace from J Crew is my favorite.

OFFICE CHIC: WHAT DO YOU WEAR?

Do you dress up for work? I was talking to a friend the other day and we decided that unless you are a lawyer, banker or salesperson, no one dresses up for work anymore. Do you think that's true? I'm curious to see what industries wear what. Leave me a comment with your industry and the dress code. 

I'll start. I work in corporate retail/eCommerce and no one dresses up for work. I get a little more dolled up when I have something social going on after work (which I did the day I wore this), but for the most part I'm pretty casual. I don't wear my HOT PINK CONVERSE or t shirts, but I do a lot of blazers, dark denim and flats. I guess we can call that smart casual?
