HOLIDATE

I decided to end the year with a post featuring the look that was by far the instaFAVE in 2016. As I stated in THIS POST, I was on the fence about this dress. I think it’s gorgeous but something about it felt too youthful and too old lady at the same time. But my instaFRIENDS convinced me to get it and I am glad I did. I didn’t think it was quite right for the holiday party I had in mind for it, however I think it’s perfect for a romantic holiDATE night or maybe I will save it for Valentine’s Day!

I hope the holidays have been kind to you thus far and I'll see you in the New Year!

CRANBERRY

I am a little late with my holiday style series this year but I kicked off my real life holiday style last month in my favorite metallic bow pumps and long furry vest. This year I paired these two with skinny cranberry pants for a gospel concert and performance starring Yolanda Adams. It was the perfect outfit for the perfect event to get me in the spirit. Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah & Happy Kwanzaa to you and yours!

WEARING: max studio fur vest (CUTE OPTION,BLACK & WHITE VERSION), gap black sweater, the limited pants (SIMILAR FOR $20), mojo moxy bow pumps (SIMILARISH)
WORN TO: yolonda adams and friends concert

W I D E

So I'm in the market for some super flare or bell bottoms jeans. I'm not sure what they are calling them these days, but they look something like THESE.

Unfortunately every pair I've tried on have been A) too expensive for something so trendy and/or B) too long and I don't know about altering something like that. If anyone knows where I can get some flare bell bottoms please let me know. In the meantime, I have put my wide leg trouser jeans back in rotation and paired it with everything from striped shirts to oversized sweaters.

WEARING: zara shirt, joes wide leg jeans, nine west pumps, f21 necklace, david yurman rings, target sunnies
WORN TO: church

CYBER MONDAY FUNDAY

Happy Cyber Monday! I went into Bloomingdales on Saturday in anticipation of Cyber Monday...trying stuff on and figuring out what I wanted to purchase online. As soon as I put this dress on I loved it, I think. I started to question if the ruffles made it too girly or too old lady so I took to IG for advice and folks overwhelmingly convinced me to pull the trigger this morning! What do you think?

PS if you're in between sizes, you might want to go with the larger size.

ESHAKTI CHIC

I've been browsing online and in stores and nothing is really getting me excited. Anyone else feel this way? Everything kind of looks the same, and other than bomber jackets and sneakers I'm not really excited about any trends I'm seeing.
With all the holiday festivities coming up I'm so happy for unique online boutiques like eShakti that get me inspired and excited about dressing up.

I LOVE this dress! Love it! And I got so many compliments when I wore it to an event at one of my favorite restaurants a couple of weeks ago. The color is perfect for this time of year and because eShakti
lets you customize for your body and change the neckline, hemline and sleeve type, the fit is always perfect!

I have a couple of more dressy to very dressy occasions coming up and I'm eyeing these beauties:

Because eShakti items are so unique, they don't stay around for long and unfortnetly my dress has sold out, but you can shop all DRESSES HERE

NOPE

Don’t you love when you can make a statement with what you choose to wear?

Nope to racism.
Nope to bullying.
Nope to misogyny.
Nope to xenophobia.
Nope to homophobia.

I pray that the president elect continues to shock us and turns out to be a different person than he’s portrayed himself to be since — basically forever. There is so much anger/fear/hate out there, and trust me I get it, but I am choosing to be cautiously optimistic un-pessimistic. And if things turn out to be as disastrous as many are predicting, hopefully half of the country will learn a lesson about electing a person who the other half of us said NOPE to.

WEARING: shirt from AMAZON, zara blazer (SIMILAR FOR $22), gap jeans, dolce vita heels (GREAT OPTION)

PINK OCTOBER

I was supposed to post this pink dress during Breast Cancer Awareness month and time just got away from me. However, for a disease that affects 1 in 8 women in the U.S., one month of "awareness" is not enough. So today it's about Pink October, November, December...

HAPPY HOLIDAYS?

Between the metallic bow pumps, the sparkles on the bag and the bejeweled top (not to mention the mode I'm in at work), I wanted to start this post with "Happy Holidays!". Too early right? I guess I'll wait until after Halloween and say Happy Monday instead :)

And for those of you who think my white jeans make this look un-festive, you are obviously not from California where we wear open toe shoes and white year-round.

WEARING: banana republic top, old navy blouse, gap jeans, mojo moxy heels
WORN TO: work and happy hour
