YELLOW JACKET

Doesn't it look like a beautiful spring day in these pictures?
(lemon treeeeee & sunshine)
Well it wasn't. It was cold and I needed a coat, but I wanted to be cute and wear this yellow jacket from my new favorite store, Banana Republic.

WEARINGBANANA REPUBLIC YELLOW JACKET, gap sweater & jeans (SIMILAR), furla bag, CHINESE LAUNDRY FLATS, h&m scarf

The spring like feel in these pictures can be attributed to the beautiful grounds at the Riviera Palm Springs. This property is a blogger & instagramers paradise because it is absolutely stunning from every angle and every corner. See for yourself...

Did you enjoy the hotel pics? Well, I have to give you a word of caution. I had several problems during my stay, from the heat not working, to a leak in the bathroom ceiling to my room not being cleaned until 7:30 one night. So yes, this is probably one of the more beautiful hotels in  Palm Springs, but buyer beware, underneath the surface, it ain't so pretty.

SIMPLY CHIC IN PALM SPRINGS

Happy 2016!!!! I took a mini blogger break to celebrate Christmas, vacation in Palm Springs, & ring in the new year. But I'm backkkkk!
As a California girl who travels as often as she possibly can, it's pretty unbelievable that I have never taken the 55 minute flight to Palm Springs, especially after seeing how absolutely beautiful it is! The mountains were so close I felt like I could just reach out and touch them. I've never seen anything like it before.
For me this trip was ALL about relaxation and I wanted my wardrobe to follow suit and be just as laid back. I did not pack any heels (gasp) and I kept my clothing selections simple with solids & denim in various shades.
This long, cozy BCBG cardigan kept me so warm, and could not have matched my cherry red Camaro more perfectly.

WEARING: bcbgmaxazria cardigan (SIMILAR), BANANA REPUBLIC DESTROYED GRAY JEANSnine west booties (SIMILAR), furla bag, old scarf
Aside from the beautiful mountains, Palm Springs is also filled with beautiful...
PALM TREES, of course!!!!
And lots and lots of Camaros. So glad I got to rent one!

HOLIDAY STYLE SERIES: CHRISTMAS

Here is the final look in my holiday style series! I wore this outfit (with booties) to a charity holiday party, but I think this look is perfect for a corporate holiday party, Christmas dinner, Midnight Mass and so much more. With a simple switch of a shoe you can dress this faux leather skirt way up or way down. And the green and black combo is very seasonally appropriate.

Where would you wear this outfit?

WEARING: gap sweater, skirt from nordstrom (SIMILAR ON SALE FOR $30), ALDO BOX CLUTCH, dolce vita boots (SIMILAR,SIMILAR)

HOLIDAY STYLE SERIES: UGLY CHRISTMAS SWEATER

You can't have a holiday style series without an ugly Christmas sweater! And by ugly, I mean this super adorable snowman sweater. How cute is he? You're guaranteed to loose the contest if you show up in this. #WayTooCute.

What do you think? Is the sweater cute? Can I wear it outside of an ugly sweater party, on a regular Saturday afternoon?

HOLIDAY STYLE SERIES: FRIENDSMAS

Black and white is always seasonally appropriate, but it's especially classy and classic during the holidays. I think this color combo is perfect on its own, but a lot of people like to pop it by adding color with shoes and accessories. I, on the other hand, kept the look all neutral and added a pop with texture in the vest and crystals on the bag and necklace.

I think this look is perfect for a Friendsmas dinner. What do you think?

WEARING: MAX STUDIO FUR VEST, j crew necklace (VERY SIMILAR), pants from bloomingdales, bag from DSW (SIMILAR), nine west booties (VERY SIMILAR)

HOLIDAY STYLE SERIES: HAPPY HOUR

Well, the turkey's been cut and the stuffing's been stuffed, so now it's time to focus on...holiday party season! Over the next several weeks I will bring you looks to get you in the spirit, and hopefully inspire some of your holiday style this season.

*I teamed up with the uber talented Katrina of KATRINA DAVIS PHOTOGRAPHY on this holiday style series.

What are the holidays without some sparkle, right?! This look is a good way to kick off the holiday party season for a dinner date, post work holiday happy hour or any occasion where you want to show you are in the spirit without being totally committed to the season just yet :)

The fun pencil skirt & denim top around the waist makes the look classic enough for everyday, but the bejeweled sweater adds the perfect touch to kick it up for this festive time of year.

Where would you wear this outfit?

WEARING: j crew top (option 1,2,3) zara skirt (CUTE OPTION), jean michel cazabat pumps, thrifted clutch, TARGET BLUE AVIATORS

#ITSBANANA

Before I started my current job, I got to treat myself to some 100% necessary retail therapy because my current gig is my only gig with a dress code.
I headed straight to Banana and stocked up on some goodies including everything you see here.
I had fun doing the whole business casual thing in the beginning, but now I think I'm over it. Ha! Or maybe I just need to go on another spree at Banana to get me excited about dressing up again.

GOOD WILL, GOOD FORTUNE

Back to outfit posts and starting fresh with a crisp white button down and an oldie but goodie, thrifted skirt in colors that are both fall and Halloween appropriate.
I got this skirt from my favorite Goodwill in Atlanta (Norcross) for $3. I thought I misplaced it during my move to California but low and behold I found at my spare closet at my parent's house! I love it when that happens. I feel like I went shopping without spending any money :)
And about the shirt, I believe when you find a white shirt that you like you need to buy it in multiples because you know they don't last very long. Or maybe that's just a problem I have because I wear them on repeat! How do you keep your white shirts bright and avoid those annoying armpit stains?

WEARING: gap white shirt (SIMILAR SIMILAR both $39) thrifted skirt & clutch (Goodwill), ISOLA BRIANNA SANDAL ON SALE FOR $60
WORN TO: work & church
