I started this blog as a creative outlet and that is certainly still its main purpose, but in the last year I've seen it grow to a level that I never would have imagined. I remember getting my first follower, that wasn't someone I knew. I thought "how cool is that?" and I still get that feeling every time someone new follows me! I really appreciate all the people who visit regularly, stop by from time to time, have only been by once, leave great comments, email me with questions and of course all of my photogs! You all keep me motivated and I look forward to April 27, 2011...hopefully bringing you pictures with a DSLR camera. I'm currently taking donations ;)

Along with a year of blogging comes new hair. Can anyone tell I got a little cut!? A little swoop bang? I guess it would help if the picture wasn't blurry...

Normally when I say BB, I am referring to my BlackBerry.

But in this case, I am talking about my lovely little yellow Burberry jacket.

To be honest, I sort of forgot that I had it. I rediscovered it over the weekend, and luckily it was cool enough for me to throw it on over my tee on Tuesday.

I think I'll get a lot more wear out of it this fall. I am moving back to the Bay Area and I am going to be attending Golden Gate University getting my M.S. in Integrated Marketing Communications! Yay me :) :)

spring into fall shoes

Now that I have less than two weeks left as an Assistant Shoe Buyer (with my current company at least) I felt it appropriate to finally do a post on what's going to be big this Fall. I know spring has just recently sprung, but in the retail/fashion world we work way ahead. Here are some of the trend highlights from the shoe show I attended back in February. LACE ME UP-When I think of lace shoes, I think of formal events.But there's a new face of lace and it can worn during the day just as easily as can be at night! (Christian Louboutin) CLOG IT OUT- Cute and comfortable...you can't go wrong with a pair of clogs, especially when they are super cute like these. (Biviel) LUG SOLES- This type of sturdy sole is typically seen in hiking boots, but it's been popping up everywhere lately, even in pumps. This is one trend that will have to grow on me...(Prada) (OFF) WHITE OUT- I've always worn white after Labor Day. I'm glad the fashion world is finally catching up to me ;) (Camilla Skovgaard) METALLICA- Metallics continue to be big, and what better to wear them, than with a fashion right pair of oxfords. (Nine West) PONY HAIR- I'm all over pony hair animal prints and you should be too. (Naughty Monkey) FLOWER PATCH- I am obsessed with all things floral...shoes, dresses, jumper, tees. The only thing missing is floral for my feet. (TopShop) WEDGED- I don't think wedge heels are going anywhere, or at least I sure hope they are not. I find all of my wedge boots to be far more comfortable than my flat sandals and I really wish I could wear them year round. (Asos) MAN UP-We've got boyfriend blazers and jeans. We want our shirts to be a little less fitted and of course oxfords are still all the rage. I think we will see them in a lot more colors this fall. (Camper) CUT IT OUT- I love shoes with cutout detailing, and I love the color of these although I don't think I'd wear them. (Kurt Geiger). I got a lovely blog award from the lovely Don at Minus the Bars. This is one of the few, if not the only, non-fashion blogs I follow, so you know he must be good ;) I am going to pass this blog award along to his hers, b/c they are a lovely couple with a blog full of lovely pictures! Yes that's right folks, I turned in my resignation letter on Monday. This has been a long time coming and I have mixed emotions about it, but you don't make it in life without taking bold actions. So I have taken a leap of faith and I know that in the end things will turn out EXACTLY how they are suppose to. Details to come on what my next move is. Mama didn't raise no fools...I do have a plan B :)

As happy as I am that warm weather is finally here, it always takes a while for me to let go of my boots :-/

I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend. I treated myself to a yummy smoothie (berry punch with a fiber blend) from Smoothie King, worked out because it's almost pool/beach season and read the first chapter of a great book (If You Have to Cry, Go Outside And Other Things Your Mother Never Told You) while sitting in Borders with the rest of the people who are too cheap to make the purchase. Ha! I will be purchasing this book as soon as I get a 30% off coupon in my e-mail.

Anyway, speaking of mothers, I entered my mom in the Urban Outfitters "Was Your Mom a Style Icon" contest, and this is the picture I submitted. DIVA!

I went to see Janelle Monae perform Monday night at a local bar and this is what I wore!

I was trying to be rocker chic so I went for the metallic skirt and the booties with socks ;)

100 proof

This is my 100th post, and I'm so excited about it that I decided to dance on tables :)

This little blog has come a long way, but I won't get sentimental and reminisce right now. For that, you'll have to stay tuned for my one year mark next month :)

But with a big ole smile on my face, I will say thanks to everyone who keeps me motivated to continue blogging! I appreciate every last comment, public follower and silent stalker ;)

On to the outfit...I got this dress from H&M and it was sooooo cheap, I thought it was a shirt until my mom told me to try it on. Thanks mom ;)

I love the print!

I wore this out to a club, and can you believe the butch female bouncer GRABBED MY BOOBS!!!! Not like a pat down, but a full on grab AND SQUEEZE!!! I don't go to clubs or places where you need to be patted down often, but my God, that can not be kosher nowadays. I should sue!

Dear Mother Nature,

I know us women can be pretty temperamental, but good grief, make up your mind already!

Monday there were snow flurries and I needed a coat, a hefty purple Soia & Kyo coat to be exact, and today I sat outside for lunch and started to sweat. What's your deal?

If it's not too much to ask, please pick a side and stick with it for more than a day. Your mood swings are making it hard to get dressed in the morning, not to mention I think all this hot and cold is making me sick :-/

spring has sprung

Although it looks and feels more like Fall, Spring has sprung and to celebrate the day I headed to brunch and the park. That look on my face is one of anticipation of the day ahead!

After brunch, but before the park, I stopped off to pose with some lovely street art.

It got kinda chilly at the park so I had to run back to the car for my Gap jacket.

I've had this jacket for probably 5 years and haven't worn it in 4. I really need to do some spring cleaning to ultimately purge, but to also see what other lovely treasures I find in my closet.

The weather brought out the kid in my b/f and he decided to climb trees.

I on the other hand decided to be the adult in the relationship and just sit, and take in the

beauty that surrounded us :) :)

Random, but anyone ever wonder where your Christmas trees go when the garbageman picks them up? Apparently to your local park! Ha! They smelled so good!

Sorry for the lack of posts. Somehow the last several days escaped me. I looked up and it was Tuesday, and a week since my last post. Anyway, this is what I wore to dinner and to a lounge, and to a bar and to another bar on Saturday night. I really took advantage of the time change :) :) :)

cheap sunglasses

So in the last post I discussed the Old Navy outfit I wore when I had my chance encounter with Mr. Zac Posen. Well, this outfit is a variation of that same look....fine for running errands which is what I did in it this weekend, but not ideal for a Zac Posen event.

I actually wasn't planning on posting these pictures. I was really just taking them b/c I wanted to see how I look in my new $14.99 Nicole Miller sunglasses, and I really like them. In fact, this is the LEAST amount of money I have ever spent on sunglasses and they are by far my MOST favorite pair. I could have saved hundreds if I had just gone to TJ Maxx all these years.

I also wanted to test out taking pictures outside using my timer. I have to play around with the settings a bit, but with daylight savings this weekend, I hope to be able to do this more often. Notice from the previous pictures to this one, I changed my shoes and bag. When it was actually time to leave, I realized it wasn't necessary to shop for wine and fruit at the Farmers Market in my nice boots, and with the change of shoes came the change of bag...o the joys of being a woman. I wouldn't have it any other way!

On a random, but exciting note, I recently treated myself to these Calvin Klein pony hair leopard sandals! I've really been cutting back on my shopping, but these were a steal at DSW and I got a little bonus at work so I figured why not. Can't wait for warm weather, so I can step out in them.
