geek chic: GlassesUSA.com

For those who celebrate, I hope you had a Merry Christmas! Mine was very relaxing because for the first time in a long time I didn't have to travel and it was nice to lounge around in my pj's with a good book and my new GLASSES courtesy of GlassesUSA.com
Most people are shocked to find out that I wear PRESCRIPTION GLASSES because I normally only wear them at work when I'm in front of the computer and for this reason, I never really invested in a cute pair. But as my vision gets worse and I am more dependent on my EYEGLASSES I decided to actually get some that I'm not embarrassed to be seen in.

My experience with GlassesUSA was excellent. I never would have thought to BUY GLASSES online, because how do you make the right choice without being able to try them on? Luckily GlassesUSA offers what is honestly my favorite part about the company, a virtual mirror (try it out below)! You can upload a picture from your computer or use your webcam and try on as many glasses as you want from the comfort of your own home! Not to mention they also offer 100% satisfaction guarantee i.e. no risk involved...

So from MY FRAMES, to designers such as Tom Ford and Coach, there is something for everyone, all at affordable prices! Enter code NEWLOOK for 50% off until 12/31. Happy Shopping!

the hair: tell me what you think

This was going to be a #TBT post, but these photos are not true throwbacks (they were taken in July) I just feel like they are because my hair was significantly longer than it is now.
I got a pretty sizable trim about 2 months ago and I was totally ok with it, until stumbling upon these pictures, and now I miss this length :( But on the other hand, something is telling me to go even shorter and get a bob
I'll be saying goodbye to my 20's in the blink of an eye and I have never had a haircut....only trims meaning  no more than 2 inches at a time. That's crazy right? Most adults cut their hair at some point  before 30 I would assume. So maybe now is the time. What do you guys think? Should I go for it and do a bob or leave it alone so it can get back to this length sooner than later?

Here's my hair at various lengths (LONGEST,IN THE MIDDLE,SHORTEST) to help you, help me decide.

alice+olivia

If you look at my last few posts, you would think green is my favorite color. It's not. Actually, when it comes to clothes, I don't have a favorite color unless grey counts.

Anyway, I've had this ALICE + OLIVIA dress for years and this is only my second time wearing it...and it might be my last. I think it's a lovely dress but as I get older, I try to stay away from girly-girly dresses. I attempted to bring a bit sophistication to the look with the strappy heels and the black coat, but it might be time to let her go. What do you guys think?

sequins by day

Well it's that time of year again...that time when I wear sequins over and over and over again. I'll try not to bore you with the monotony, but really who gets tired of sparkly things? I wore this particular top by day for lunch and by night (with black pants and a black leather jacket) to see  my boo Trey Songz. This weekend I'm going to see my other boo, Rick Ross, and I might just have to break out the SEQUIN LEGGINGS for him ;)

urban maxi

I've had this maxi skirt for a few months now, and I am wearing it every chance I get..with boots, with heels, with flats, with sandals, with sweaters, with tank tops and so on and so forth. It's so versatile, it flows really well, the warm color is perfect for the cooler months, and the best part is, it's ON SALE right now (in a variety of colors)! I'm currently on a shopping diet, but I might have to indulge.

simply chic takes maui

(the resort)
(sunset)
So, my trip to Maui was somewhat of a last minute decision and my goodness I'm so glad I went for it (#YOLO). It was paradise for sure!! If you haven't been, put it on your bucket list, and stay at the MARRIOTT MAUI OCEAN CLUB in Kaanapali. It's so fabulous that I would have been totally fine if I never left the resort and frolicked around in my bikini and hat until the sunset everyday, but obviously I'm glad I did get out and explore other parts of the island. If you follow me on INSTAGRAM you read about and saw my 10,000 ft. trek up Haleakala Volcano. AMAZING!!! The trip also consisted of good shows, good food, good drinks and good company :) I really could have used an extra day or 3, but I am more than thankful for what I had.

Have you been to Maui?

A quick post because I'm still recuperating from all of last night's excitement

Did you go out or stay in and watch the election results? Four years ago I foolishly watched by myself. I clearly didn't want to do that again, so this year I threw a small dinner party. Good food, good wine, good company! An all around good night, but now I need a nap, and someone to come clean for me :)

P.S.-Sorry for all the election related INSTAGRAM photos last night ;)

Happy Halloween! I haven't dressed up since I was in grade school and actually wore this skirt as my uniform (and not my costume) every day. Yep! This is my actual uniform from back in the day. Cute right? Thank goodness for elastic waistbands :) Anyway, I had a ton of fun dressing up and going out and seeing all the crazy costumes on the streets of San Francisco.  I might just have to do it again next year! Do you dress up for Halloween?
