dressed in all black

target racer back tank, thrifted belt, urban pants/jeans, report signature shoes, marc by marc jacobs bag

I wore the shoes! For them to be 5+ inches, they are pretty comfortable. I decided to go with all black so all the attention was were it was supposed to be, and it was :) Next time, I will be a bit more creative.

running errands

american eagle button down, old navy cargo shorts, converse shoes
I feel like my life is one big errand run. I run errands during lunch, after work, on Saturday, on Sunday. What is that about? Anyway, with most everything I do, I enjoy it a little more when I like what I am wearing. My pre Converse days, I would have totally put on a dress and some flats to run my errands (because you should look put together even if you are just running errands) but I love the new casual style these Converse have added to my wardrobe. I wonder what other colors I can get ;)

express yourself

not trying to be sexy, just fixing my frizzy hair. freaking humidity! wasn't i just talking about how cold it was?

express short sleeve sweater, thrifted express skirt, bcbgirls shoes

Somehow I managed to put a on a whole Express outfit today, and I don’t even like Express. Their clothes are not really “me” and they are grossly overpriced, but I do run in there during the Fall/Winter for tights…which is how I stumbled upon the top I am wearing. It’s actually a really good basic, and a good length for tucking in.

report is my signature

report signature shoes

A couple of weeks ago I blogged about these shoes, saying something like the more I see them, the more I want them, and guess what? Well obviously I got them! I had to break my shopping diet for these babies b/c I found them online for an incredible deal! I was leery about them at first, because they are so opposite of what I am used to, but as soon as I slipped my foot in, and buckled up, I fell in love. I am going out this weekend, for the sole purpose of being able to wear these shoes.

Now, I am only a couple of dozen pair away of having a well rounded assortment of shoes, and being the shoe loving, assistant shoe buyer people expect me to be :)

It's funny the angles you come up with when you are taking pictures of yourself...

pink all star

thrifted shorts and necklace, f21 jean jacket, random white tank, namebrandless aviators and bag, pink converse

This was totally not the outfit I planned on wearing today. I was supposed to wear these shorts (that I thought was a skirt) with some gladiators and a long cardi, but I was dying to wear my pink Converse so I switched it up last min. Definitely not my favorite look that I've put together, but I am glad that I got to break in the shoes. Plus, I did a lot of walking at the Jazz Festival I went to today and the Converse kept my feet supported.

fancy

ali ro dress, thrifted belt, christian louboutin slingbacks

opi polish in big apple red :)

I went to the Keyshia Cole concert last night, and as I do with almost every concert I go to, I enjoyed myself thoroughly. I wasn't really there to see her...will get to that in a min...but she was absolutely fantastic and completely stole the show, which is important since she WAS the headliner. Her petite little body was so toned, her dance moves were pretty impressive, and most importantly, she sounded amazing. She didn't miss one note, and that brings me to DREAM.

I actually decided to go to this concert because The Dream is also part of this tour and I am obsessed with his new album, in particular the song called Fancy. So essentially, I payed 70 or so dollars to see him perform this one song...FANCY and of course he didn't do it, and not only did he not do it, he sounded terrible live. I mean, it was so bad it was almost offensive. Thank God K. Cole, Kerri Hilson and Bobby Valentino did their thing and made me feel like the concert was worth my time and money. Plus, I did get a chance to wear my Ali Ro dress that's been sitting in my closet unscathed for months!

boyfriend blazer...check

zara boyfriend blazer, f21 top, j crew jeans

I wasn't planning on wearing the bf blazer today, but when I woke up and saw on the news that it was only 50 degrees (more cold weather...ugh), I decided to put it on. I can't wait to wear it again (in the VERY near future) with a dress, skirt, or even some high waisted shorts ;) Stay tuned. Hopefully I'll get a better pic.

boots and blazers in may?

j crew blazer, f21 cardi, old navy dress, dolce vita boots
Ummm, where’s the warm weather? I mean fall IS my favorite season for fashion, and I love to stretch it out as long as possible, but I’m just saying…

petite chic_ashley olsen

I'm 5 feet 2 inches and around 115 lbs...in other words, petite! I've fully embraced the idea now, but just like plus size women, petite women have issues dressing their body as well. Besides the fact that I spend hundreds of dollars on alterations a year, I have to be careful that what I wear doesn't make me look like I am 12, playing dress up. This means staying away from things too girly and being careful that if I partake in trends, it's not the same trends my teenage niece is partaking in. From time to time I will blog about some of my fav women who wear petite well, starting with Ashley Olsen.

The focus is always on Mary Kate, but style wise, I personally identify with Ashley's slightly more sophisticated look. From red carpet to latte runs, I think she gets it right just about every time, and she is tiny! I wish I could rock 5 inch platforms with as much confidence as she does, but for some reason I feel like they overpower my little frame. Maybe I have just not found the perfect pair yet.

this look inspires me to not give up on platforms!

this is the epitome of being simply chic. i would wear this all day long and feel so hot doing so.

who said you have to be tall to wear wide leg trousers?

i may be afraid of big shoes, but i love big bags. another look i would rock head to toe!

i bought some bright pink converse recently and i've been trying to figure out a good look for them. i think this is cute!

big shoes and skinny black pants again! how does she do it so well?

got ruffles?

thrifted ruffle top, j crew cardi, urban outfitters pants, steven boots

Apparently when I got dressed this morning I thought I was an equestrian and not a buyer. Ha! I HAVE been saying for the last year that I want to learn to r
ide. Maybe I will move it to the top of my list of 500 things I want to accomplish.

miami part two

dress from target, bcbgirls shoes, thrifted bag and belt
I went to Target right before the trip to look for a coverup for the beach and I stumbled upon this great dress on sale for $14.99! Other than, a few tanks and some hats, this is my first clothing purchase from Target and I am pretty impressed! I won't be adding Target to the list of places I frequent for clothes, but I will definitely check them out every blue moon.

Top picture was taken at an overpriced dinner, and the middle is at a club called Dream. I don't really do the club thing anymore, but this party made me remember just how fun how it can be with the right crowd, the right DJ, and the right outfit ;) Last pic is after the club in a pizzeria. The picture is cropped b/c my face is beat! It's 5:00 a.m...

miami part one

After a bit of retail therapy (finally got a b/f blazer!!!) wearing an Anthro dress, Marc by Marc Jacobs bag and oversized Urban Outfitters sunglasses

On the way to Sky Bar in a thrifted dress that I adore and a cheap namebrandless clutch

As always, Miami was a great time! I don't think the weather could have been any better, and while some may have been taken aback by the lesbian and porn conventions in town, I don't think I could have picked a better weekend to go!!! I was sitting on the balcony at Wet Willies and I looked out and saw all the colorful hotels, the palm trees, the beach in the background, and for the first time I realized how lovely South Beach really is! I'm already looking forward to my next trip :)

I must give a shout out to all the men and women, who are proud of their bodies! I "dieted", worked out and used some cellulite lotion all in preparation for this trip, and within 5 mins of walking on the beach, I realized how psychotic I was being. LOL! People 5 times my size were walking around (many topless) with so much confidence. At first I was a little thrown off, but I quickly realized we are all made in God's eyes and we should be proud of what we have, no matter how much or how little it is! But at the same time, a little exercise and healthy eating never hurt anyone ;)

casual thursdays

anthro top, banana cardi, joes jeans & dv dolce vita sandals

The best thing (not an exaggeration) about my job is that I never really have to dress up if I don't want to. I can't imagine working in a stiff industry where I had to wear slacks and button downs everyday (yawn). I'm leaving for Miami in the morning, and I figured today was going to be pretty hectic making sure everything was in order before I left, so I opted for jeans and comfy flats. Isn't it great that you can be chic in flats? I hope that is one trend that never dies.

Toddles 'til Monday! Hopefully I get some good pics on my trip.

happy cinco!

thrifted skirt (i think from anthro), american apparel top, dolce vita kicks

HAPPY CINCO!!!! I hope everyone had a fabulous evening. Today was EXTREMELY hectic at work, and dinner, drinks, dancing and good music was just what I needed to unwind. Hope I am not feeling the aftermath when my alarm clock goes off in few hours :-/

lions & tigers & bears

fcuk dress, thrifted red bag

I went to the zoo today!!!!! The baby gorillas were basically the cutest thing I've ever seen (besides my nephews) Sometimes it's fun to be a kid!
But now I must run for cover. There's a serious storm outside and a tornado warning for my county. Toddles!

P.S. This panda is pretty darn cute too!

seeing red, feeling blue

thrifted skirt, belt and necklace, old navy tank, steven boots

I should have known when I woke up at 6:00 on a Saturday morning, today was going to be a crappy day!!! My hairstylist showed up 20 mins late for my 8:00 a.m. hair appt, my hair was acting stupid so I had to get a serious trim, and after I spent 3.5 hrs in the shop, I had to drive around for 20 mins looking for an ATM (she wouldn't take my card for some reason) to pay her $100!!!! I was so ready to get out of there I didn't even question why I was spending $40 more than I planned, and I haven't gotten to the worst part yet...

After leaving a tour of condos, which was awsome (I really want to buy one), I walked around the bulding to grab something to eat, and while I was walking, it started to pour and the wind picked up, and BAM, my 3.5 hrs in the shop and my $100 gone down the drain. I almost cried! I wanted to get some more pics after I left the tour, but that clearly didn't happen. I did take the one pic above before I left. Unfortuanly the quality sucks!!! Ugh! Hopefully tomorrow is better. I'm off to watch the game...GO BULLS.
My $100 curls before the rain got to them :(

what do lindsay and i have in common?

Fringe sandals! Not sure who makes hers, but I happen to like the dark footbed on my very affordable Dolce Vita's the best!
