...4 years that is. I'm a terrible, terrible blogger. Not only am I down to once a week posts, I also missed my 4 year blogiversary this past Saturday. I would apologize and tell you I am going to do better, but instead I will just say thank you for reading, thank you for your comments and emails, thank you for following and thank you for inspiring me to keep at it each and every time I want to give it up. I'm taking it one step at a time, but for now, cheers to another great year to come :)

P.S. I'm thinking a giveaway is a good way to celebrate 4 years! Any suggestions on what I should give away?

hat hair day

I'm officially renaming bad hair days, hat hair days because when you can put a hat on, there's no such thing as a bad hair day. 

As soon as I spotted THIS acid wash baseball cap in Target, I knew I had to have it. It's multifunctional, protecting my skin from the sun, hiding hair that needs some TLC, and adding interest to an outfit whether you choose to dress up, dress down or land somewhere in between like I did here.

Remember THIS post, where I was battling the wind? Well, this is the purple and pink version of that same sweater, and once again I was battling the wind. That's what happens when you're always surrounded by water. #CaliGirlProblems

Do you ever buy the same thing in multiple colors? This is very rare for me, but I caught a super duper deal on these cardigans and I had to do it!

When it comes to trends I'm always two steps behind. Printed pants have been all the rage for a couple of seasons, right? I don't know, but I'm just now getting into them and we have this $12.99 pair from H&M to thank for that.

easter dress

When I got dressed on Sunday morning, I thought to myself "there is nothing about this that says Easter". But you know how it is when you really want to wear something, and don't have time to change even if you wanted to? 

The lovely folks at eShakti sent this dress to me ages ago, and there was never a good time to wear it because I rarely dress up. My office is casual and my church is casual, so I knew Easter Sunday needed to be the occasion to wear it. Luckily it rained a lot, and I didn't feel so bad about not being in bright colors.

gone with the wind fabulous

OMG, I hate the wind! It makes your hair a tangled mess. It makes your hair stick to your lip gloss. It makes it feel 10 times colder than it actually is. And worst of all, it makes it impossible to take proper blog pictures. I don't know how you folks in Chicago do it.

green giant

I'm super stoked because I just booked a ticket to Athens!! No, not Georgia silly...GREECE!!!!! If you've been to the Greek Islands, I would love to hear about it. Please share!!

is it spring yet?

Because of INSTAGRAM,where I attempt to post my daily looks, I realized my style really leans toward the casual side in the fall and winter. I prefer flat boots to heeled boots. I'm wearing denim 4 out of 7 days, and of course all of my sweaters are in heavy rotation. I'm a California native, and I am all about that easy, breezy style (and life) but I'm over it at the moment. I'm ready for dresses, skirts, floral prints and HEELS! Anyone else ready for spring? It's only a week away :)

This little jumper is so versatile and well worth the the $19.99 I spent on it at Forever 21 ;) I've worn it wine tasting, clubbing, to the beach and most recently I wore it on moving day. I think I like it so much because it takes zero thought to look half way put together and sometimes you just need that, you know?

valentine's day come late

Well, I’m back for now! As I said before, I shot a few looks prior to my big move and this Valentine’s Day outfit is one of them. Normally I would wear a dress or skirt to celebrate the occasion, but I thought there was something particularly lovely and sweet about this look. It must be the big ole bow, and of course I had to bring in the red with the lips and the nails.

I typically don't wear this owl sweatshirt out in public because as I've said numerous times, I'm trying to dress more age appropriate and nothing screams young like a bedazzled owl sweatshirt! But who cares. It's been cold here and I'm so sick of wearing sweaters. I did my best to make it "sophisticated" with heels and leather peplum. What do you think? Did it work?

At any rate, it is an outfit, and I call it an outfit because I bought the blazer, blouse and pants all on the same day in the same store! Do you buy outfits? This might have been the first time for me...
