eat drink and be merry

Photobucket
zara leather jacket, urban jeans and top, 9west booties

This is what I threw on to grab a quick bite to eat tonight. I'm headed to Myrtle Beach in the morning, so I guess I should keep it short and sweet, and head to bed.

Happy Thanksgiving!

"just get me a really big closet"

So Carrie opted for the big closet instead of the big ring. I'm personally greedy, and want both! My current closet is a nightmare, and I can never find anything in it. I would probably feel the need to shop less, if I could actually see what I own. Here are some celeb closets that may make your heart skip a beat:

olivia wilde-i adore this closet, that also serves as an office for her. it is simple and i find it so charming. this would be my sanctuary.

kimora lee simmons-it's a little gaudy and cluttered for my taste, but i do think she is so fab!

mariah carey-awww, the shoes. i mean this is amazing. it's a little girly, but if it comes with all the shoes in my size, i'll take it!

nicky hilton-this is perfect! i love the dark floors, in contrast with the white chair and furniture, and how cute is the black & white entry door that brings it altogether? love it!

paula abdul-my favorite part about this closet is that she has a place for her belts. all of mine are on hangers and diffucult to get to. also love the space for her sunglasses...

christina aguilera- this is the picture that inspired this post! my taste is definitely not this bold and in your face, but i think this closet is to die for! i love the ladder. definitely something that would come in handy for me.

girls night out

zara blazer, f21 tank and skirt, jessica simpson booties

This is what I wore Friday night to dinner, drinks and lounging at the W.

Purple and red is my MOST favorite color combination, yet I never really manage to wear it. I’m happy my fabulous, fabulous time out with my girlfriends this past weekend afforded me the opportunity to explore this color combination!

Originally, I planned on pairing this look with strappy heels but I thought the outfit was super girly and I decide to edge it up a bit with my new Jessica Simpson booties. Never in a million years would I have thought that I would wear anything with the name Jessica Simpson branded on it, but I must say, she’s inching up there with BCBGirls as my go to place for affordable footwear.

timeless

Photobucket

anthropologie dress, f21 cardigan, thrifted belt, kenneth cole men's watch

In an effort to not give up on the blog, and make things more exciting for me (and hopefully you) I'm going to start posting slightly bigger pictures! Maybe, eventually, I will go even bigger, but baby steps for now. Anyway, this is what I wore to work on Monday. I've had this dress for a really long time. In fact, I bought it right before I went to Paris back in 2006, and I still love it just as much as I did back then. There's nothing like a piece of clothing that doesn't go out of style.

this is it

wendy katlen leather bomber, ??? scarf, urban pants, dolce vita boots, elliott luca bag

I went to see This Is It, and this is what I wore. Nothing special by any means, but when I knew I was going to see the movie, I also knew I was going to wear my Wendy Katlen leather bomber jacket, that my coworker so lovingly calls my "Michael Jackson jacket". Nothing else would have been more appropriate ;)

BTW if you haven't seen the movie, GO! I promise, you will not be disappointed.

mini skirts and leather...on sunday ;)

zara leather jacket, f21 skirt, mia shoes

This is what I wore to the movies, not to church, on Sunday. I saw Good Hair (still laughing), and I also perused H&M (the fall collection is great), and had a yummy Asian lunch (the crab and cheese rolls were interesting).

Did I mention the H&M fall collection was fab? I think the end of my shopping diet is very near. I've been too good for too long!

grey day

express (minus the leather) vest, ???? scarf that i love, urban jeans, steven boots

Grey is one of my favorite neutrals, but it's not translating so well here. The pictures look and feel really dull, or shall I say grey. I think a lot of it has to do with the lighting, and my crappy camera, unfortunately. Good thing I wore a bright scarf to perk things up a bit.

i die

(images from netaporter)

...for these Christian Louboutin oxfords. I want them soooooooo bad, and I know I have better ways to spend my money at the moment but, I DIE. I'm trying my best not to think about them, but I see them in my dreams at night. The plan is to check them out in person and cross my fingers that 1) they are sold out OR 2) they won't have my size OR 3) I think they are hideous in person (not likely). If none of this turns out to be the case, I will start taking donations...or keep dreaming.

fading colors

zara blazer, julie haus dress, christian louboutin shoes, ??? envelope clutch

I wore this Julie Haus ombre dress out lounging in Boston last weekend. I love the print, but the sleeves are kind of weird to me so I always wear it with a blazer or a cardigan and it hides the print :-( I should probably take it to my seamstress to see what she can do about the sleeves.

Here's a picture from the one time I wore the dress without a cardigan or a blazer.

i heart boston

j crew blazer, thrifted h&m cardi, f21 leggings, steven boots

I had an amazing time in Boston! I did not want to leave, and that is rare for me when I am out of town. Not only did I get to spend time with my b/f, I got to spend time with him in one of the most beautiful US cities I've ever visited. A small part of me thinks I am jaded b/c I was with him, but the more I talk to people who have been to Boston, I realize they share the same sentiments as me. It's a gorgeous city, full of character and charm with exquisitely dressed residents! I can not wait to go back.

no rhyme nor reason

f21 denim jacket, ny & co leopard cardi, urban jeans, steve madden luxe shoes

There's no rhyme nor reason to what I am wearing....grey jeans, blue denim jacket, leopard cardi and so on and so forth. That's what's so great about fashion these days...anything goes. So when you fall asleep at 1:00 a.m., forgetting to lay out your clothes the night before and only have like 20 mins to get dressed, throw something on, preferably with some heels, walk with confidence and call it a day. That's what I did :)

I'm off to Boston tomorrow. Everyone have a lovely weekend!

in the wind: chicago

Last weekend I took a trip to Chicago with my girlfriend Nkechi. I packed the night before, so there aren't too many exciting clothing pics BUT the city is beautiful so enjoy some of the highlights:
i got a taste of the chicago wind while i was there. it was no good for the hair.

despite the wind the sky was clear, presenting the perfect opportunity for skyline pics!

belles in blazers...mines thrifted, hers zara!

we had lunch at RL (ralph lauren's restaurant). it was basically like eating in a ralph lauren store, and everyone looked like they belonged in a ralph lauren ad. i highly recommend it.

there was beautiful artwork everywhere you turned.

and i am obsessed with these floral shaped plants that lined the magnificent mile.

Overall it was a great trip, in a great city, with great company :)

Next weekend....BOSTON!

white out

zara blazer, urban jeans, bcbgirls shoes, badgley mischka bag, michael kors wacth

Anyone follow the no white after Labor Day rule? Clearly I don't :) Minus the open toe shoes, I think this is a look that translates well year round, which is why I wore it last Friday to work.

I bought the Badgley Mischka bag a couple of months ago, and not too long after that I picked up this Michael Kors tortoise watch to go with it. Now that it's Fall you will probably be seeing a lot more of both!!

Here's a better picture of the watch...

(photo from shopbop)

I hope to post a few pics from Chicago soon!

school days

banana jacket, urban top, anthro skirt

I wore this to work a few days ago and my department intern told me I looked like a school girl :( Not exactly the look I was going for. O well, I guess you win some, you loose some. I'm off to Chicago tomorrow. Everyone enjoy their weekend. I sure hope to despite the fact that I am overworked, overtired and SICK!
P.S. excuse my messy room in the background. I had no intentions of posting this picture. I was playing dress up...

fashion police

I didn't watch the Emmy's but I did watch the Fashion Police on E!. Here are some of the highlights for me:

only heidi can make pregnant look so good.

i don't know why, but i like this a lot. maybe it's b/c her face is so stunning. i just wish she would have chosen a different shoe.

in the words of rachel zoe "i die". this picture does not do this dress justice at all.

simple elegance! i think her body looks amazing in this dress.

love, love, love. this color is gorgeous, the neckline is fab, and the necklace is perfect.

the fashion police hated it. i don't mind it.
