cheap sunglasses

So in the last post I discussed the Old Navy outfit I wore when I had my chance encounter with Mr. Zac Posen. Well, this outfit is a variation of that same look....fine for running errands which is what I did in it this weekend, but not ideal for a Zac Posen event.

I actually wasn't planning on posting these pictures. I was really just taking them b/c I wanted to see how I look in my new $14.99 Nicole Miller sunglasses, and I really like them. In fact, this is the LEAST amount of money I have ever spent on sunglasses and they are by far my MOST favorite pair. I could have saved hundreds if I had just gone to TJ Maxx all these years.

I also wanted to test out taking pictures outside using my timer. I have to play around with the settings a bit, but with daylight savings this weekend, I hope to be able to do this more often. Notice from the previous pictures to this one, I changed my shoes and bag. When it was actually time to leave, I realized it wasn't necessary to shop for wine and fruit at the Farmers Market in my nice boots, and with the change of shoes came the change of bag...o the joys of being a woman. I wouldn't have it any other way!

On a random, but exciting note, I recently treated myself to these Calvin Klein pony hair leopard sandals! I've really been cutting back on my shopping, but these were a steal at DSW and I got a little bonus at work so I figured why not. Can't wait for warm weather, so I can step out in them.

my encounter w/ zac posen!!!
In a nutshell, this is what happened...I got an invite from Saks saying they were hosting a meet and greet w/ Zac to introduce his new line, Z Spoke. Of course I get the e-mail after the RSVP list is already closed, but luckily my friend had sense enough to call and leave our names on the RSVP line anyway. Days go by and we hear nothing and we decided we weren't going to bother crashing, but on the day of the event she gets a call saying we're on the list!!!! My heart started palpitating b/c I wasn’t going to have time to run home and change, but I took a deep breath, told myself I was fabulous regardless of what I was wearing and I sucked it up and went anyway, and I am so glad I did!!!!
It was a small intimate event, and he was so personable and happy to meet his admirers. Although I was too chicken to go up to him in my sub par outfit I did get a few decent shots. Lesson learned…wake up every day and say to yourself “what would I wear if I had the chance to meet Zac P today.” J/K. I’m not dressed to impress today either, but what are the odds of meeting a great designer two days in a row?
he spoke briefly abt the clothes, but for the most part he mingled with the crowd posing for pictures and having casual conversations.
zac from the back...he had the cutest awkward little walk which you can kinda see in the way he stands.
check this woman out! not sure if she works for him, or if she is a stalker, but everywhere he went, she went, and as the night went on he appeared to be more and more turned off by her.
my partner in crime for the evening! she skipped out of work early to change into leopard pants, theory boots, a juicy jacket and rebecca minkoff bag. meanwhile i was left standing in old navy :(
this dress was one of my fav looks of the night!
had i been prepared for the event, i think the photos and the situation would have played out very differently, but in the end, it was a great experience, and i am still on cloud 9!

last but not least

These are the final pictures from my Boston trip! I should be back out there in a couple of months when it's warmer, and I am not forced to take all of my pictures in the dorm. I really adore this chunky cardigan, and I actually think I'm going to wear it this week to work while the weather is still mild enough for it.

These earmuffs were an essential part of my trip. Don't think I would have survived the frigid temps without them. It was a much cheaper option than buying a coat with a hood.

I took this picture in the fitting room of Banana Republic. For once, my b/f was doing all the shopping. I didn't buy one thing while I was in Boston! Actually, I bought him a sweater :)
express coat, macys necklace, authentic pashmina from my parents trip to turkey (thanks mom!) preston & york earmuffs, h&m cardigan, badgley mischka bag, 9west boots

not so basic black

zara leather jacket, banana top, urban jeans, dolce vita boots, marc by marc bag
This is what I threw on to meet my friend for dinner and drinks Saturday night. From far away it looks like I'm wearing all black, but as you can see, there are splashes of color everywhere on my top, and my jeans are actually blue ;) I broke my necklace on my way to the restaurant (thanks F21), but we ended up eating dinner outside, so luckily my leather jacket never had to come off, and it hid my bare neck.

shopping for shoes pt II
One of these days, I will do a post on shoe trends for Fall based on what I saw at the show...

paint the town red
top from local boutique, urban pants, christian louboutin booties
Remember the CL booties I treated myself to for Christmas, that were too small and sold out everywhere?? Well I found them!!!! I was supposed to wear them in Boston to this little sexy place called Red Sky, but somehow I ended up at a Jersey Shore themed party in Harvard Square. Needless to say I was way overdressed for a sweaty grad school party with sticky floors (my poor soles). However, I did end up having a good time and I was able to end the night at the W. Somehow I manage to end up at the W no matter what city I am in.
I apologize for the bad dorm room pictures :-/

leopard linings
express coat, urban skirt, miss me shoes
Boston was a delight. I didn't want to come back, but at the same time I am happy to be back. After two weekends away in a row, I feel like I’m behind on so much, namely my DVR and blogging. I’m looking forward to playing catch up this weekend.
This is what I wore to work last Friday before my flight. The skirt length is probably borderline inappropriate for the office. However, because my carryon was literally busting at the seams, I had to conserve space and wear to work what I planned on wearing to dinner and drinks in Boston. I tried to lay low that day, but my coworker was obsessing over my shoes and kept telling people to go to my desk and check them out. Grrrrrrr!!!!
I got two blog awards, that I need to pass along. The first one is from Sissy of Sissy a la Mode and it is going to go to the lovely Missy Kimmy of Strawberry Stiletto. Check out her site if you haven’t already. It’s pretty fantastic.

gal pals
I am back from DC and I had a wonderful time! Great company, beautiful scenery, delicious food, a swank hotel…what more could a girl ask for?
This weekend I’m off to Boston to see the b/f!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I thought I knew what I was packing, but I’m leaning more towards comfort and warmth than fun and cute. Ugh! I really hate packing, and I am really ready for Spring.
Thanks to Sissy & Nina for my blog awards. They are my first two :) I’ll be sure to pass them along and visit everyone's blog who left me a comment after I’ve recuperated from my two weekends away.
