Time is winding down for this year and I am ending  things on a high note with one of my favorite discoveries of 2014  — THE CAPE! I guess it's not completely accurate to say I made the discovery this year, but it's 100% true that I fell in love with them this summer while in Paris and back here in the States, I've treated myself to two of them! This lovely grey sweater cape and a tan plaid one that is more of an outerwear piece (coming soon to a blog near you).

 I also fell in love with pearls and brooches this year. Sophisticated much?

WHAT TO WEAR: HOLIDAY PARTYING

There are so many things to love about this time of year, and holiday partying is definitely on my list. I mean, who doesn't like an excuse to dress up? I certainly do, although this year I toned down my dressing up to kick off the holiday party season. In fact, I could (and would) wear this skirt and sweater combo just about any day of the week. But with the red shoe, lip, and nails, and a little gigantic statement necklace, I think it took the look from everyday to holiday chic! 'Tis the season...

STRAWBERRY BUBBLEGUM

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving & Thanksgiving weekend! I certainly did — the food, the people, the partying, the shopping :-/ I was supposed to be good and not participate in Black Friday, but....that didn't happen. What can I say? I'm a sucker for a deal, and now I'm eating ramen for the next two weeks. Ha!

And speaking of deals, I got this dress for the super low-low at Urban Outfitters many moons ago. It was one of those things where I wasn't in love with it, but it was so cheap I thought "Why not?" Glad I did. Turns out, I actually like it.
