Better late than never. Here are some INSTAGRAM snaps from the City of Angels.

 Gorgeous shot of Venice Beach. It's a different story on the other side of that sign. 

UMAMI BURGER...one of the best burgers I've ever had, and I am a burger aficionado. The Santa Monica location is located right next to FRED SEGAL, so you can shop while you wait for a table. 

 Rodeo Drive is so pretty in the evening, and the shops aren't half bad either.

 To get as close to the Hollywood sign as you can possible get, use the address 3000 Canyon Lake Drive 90068. It's well worth the trek up there.

I picked up this dress for $29 on the clearance rack at Urban Outfitters. I was unsure abt the print, but it was drawing me in at the same time...so I bought it. When I got home and tried it on, I fell in love with the print AND the drop waist! I think this might be my new fav silhouette.

I don't know what to talk about...the BANANA REPUBLIC X MILLY COLLECTION (all on sale now) or my trip to LA. I love them both so much, but I guess I should let the outfit speak for itself. The shorts are awesome right?

As for the trip, obviously I spent some time playing tourist! This particular day we were supposed to go riding bikes by the beach but it was chilly down by the water. So what's the next best thing to riding bikes?Shopping!!! We headed to West Hollywood/Robertson Boulevard, where we spotted Marlo Hampton shopping in Chanel with a sugar daddy nice older gentleman. 

After some retail therapy and "star" gazing, I had the bright idea to get as close to the Hollywood sign as possible. So we hopped in our snazzy white mustang and drove up, up, up and did just that! The photo op was totally worth all the popping that my ears did.

Well I'm back...not quite with a bang, so we'll call it a bing ;) I had a great little extended weekend getaway to Southern Cali and I will tell you all about it next post. But for now, I'm going to finish my wine and head to bed. Toodles!

Headed out of town for the 4^th but not before I check out Mrs. Carter tomorrow night! I’ll be back to blogging before you know it, but in the meantime be sure to follow me and my escapades on INSTAGRAM. 

ETA: I really don’t have words to adequately describe how much of an amazing performer Beyonce is. This was my 3^rd time seeing her, and she gets better and better and is more than worth every bit of the $XXX I paid to see her. She performed for 2 hours straight, had so many costume changes I lost count, flew across the crowd (see below), danced her a$$ off and did it all while sounding even more flawless than she does on CD. No joke. No exaggeration….

sample sale

One of the good things about working in corporate retail is the infamous sample sale a.k.a grab and bag, where you basically get clothes and shoes and accessories for FREE. I normally just go for the scarves, but this time I actually lucked up on some good clothing items including this super soft knit skirt! 

My bag on the other hand is not from a sample sale. It's Dooney & Bourke and I highly recommend it. The color is to die! Get yours HERE

prabal gurung for target

I'm not going to say I was dying for this Prabal Gurung for Target skirt like so many other bloggers. In fact, the only reason I bought it is because it was on clearance for $8 and my weakness is a good deal. But I like bright colors and I am all about the pattern mix, so I'm happy I got. Not mention, it also works perfectly with my Diesel heels, BUT I'm just not sure how else I would wear it. Suggestions?

I am officially the coolest aunt. I let my nephews photobomb me while I'm trying to be serious and take blog pics, and then I turn around and shoot hoops with them...IN HEELS. Anything for my boys, anything :) 

P.S. This is the outfit that landed me a spot in ESSENCE nearly 2.5 years ago!
