NYE

We are a month into the new year...can you believe that?! Before you know it, we will be celebrating NYE again. 

And speaking of NYE this is what I wore to ring in 2016. I got this Rachel Roy skirt on super sale over the summer for around $20 and I thought it would the perfect summer day party look dressed down with some Chucks and a tee. Turns out it was the perfect winter NYE party look dressed up with booties and a blouse. HAPPY FEBRUARY FOLKS!!!

DESERT CHIC

Did I mention Palm Springs is beautiful? I don't think I can say it enough. On this particular day I was supposed to head up Mt. San Jacinto via the AERIAL TRAMWAY but tickets were sold out. So instead I took my faux fur, camel coat, & white jeans on a foot tour around the windy, chilly desert and I quite enjoyed myself. And besides, not being able to go up the mountain is just the excuse I need to take a trip back.

Well it wasn't. It was cold and I needed a coat, but I wanted to be cute and wear this yellow jacket from my new favorite store, Banana Republic.

**Simply Chic Travel Tips: Riviera Palm Springs**

Did you enjoy the hotel pics? Well, I have to give you a word of caution. I had several problems during my stay, from the heat not working, to a leak in the bathroom ceiling to my room not being cleaned until 7:30 one night. So yes, this is probably one of the more beautiful hotels in  Palm Springs, but buyer beware, underneath the surface, it ain't so pretty.

SIMPLY CHIC IN PALM SPRINGS

Happy 2016!!!! I took a mini blogger break to celebrate Christmas, vacation in Palm Springs, & ring in the new year. But I'm backkkkk!

As a California girl who travels as often as she possibly can, it's pretty unbelievable that I have never taken the 55 minute flight to Palm Springs, especially after seeing how absolutely beautiful it is! The mountains were so close I felt like I could just reach out and touch them. I've never seen anything like it before. 

For me this trip was ALL about relaxation and I wanted my wardrobe to follow suit and be just as laid back. I did not pack any heels (gasp) and I kept my clothing selections simple with solids & denim in various shades. 

This long, cozy BCBG cardigan kept me so warm, and could not have matched my cherry red Camaro more perfectly.

Aside from the beautiful mountains, Palm Springs is also filled with beautiful...
