cut it off

It's past my bedtime, and I haven't packed my lunch...YIKES! So here's a quick post. I wore these cutoffs to run errands and while I was out I got invited to a last minute dinner. So I rushed home, threw on a blazer, some heels a dab of BURBERRY BODY and still had time to snap a few pics before heading out the door :) Happy 3 Day Weekend!!

Please check me out in the 5 WAYS TO WEAR PEPLUM challenge over at THE FRUGALISTA DIARIES. Thanks Megan for including me :):):)

blue suede shoes

I have lots of shoes in lots of different colors, but none in blue, so purchasing these from the Zara sale was a no brainer...not to mention they are the perfect height to be both weekend and work appropriate. Speaking of the weekend, I hope everyone had a lovely one. Mine turned out to be quite interesting ;)

P.S. I want to thank Inez of STYLE CHIC 360 for featuring me on CHIC FRIEND FRIDAY last Friday. Please check out the Q&A and also check out her blog. You won't be disappointed.

treasure island

I grew up in the Bay Area and it was just a few weeks ago that I went to Treasure Island for the first time. I went at night for a party, and as I was driving out of the parking lot, I literally gasped when I saw the gorgeous view of the Bay Bridge and the skyline both all lit up. I had no clue THAT was right in my backyard. One of these days I'm going to go shoot some photos at night, but for now, here's a glimpse of Treasure Island during the day. I was smart to wear a hat. The wind was not my friend.

style it two ways: cargo vest

I would like to thank OLD NAVY for bringing back the cargo vest, with a little bit of a face lift! Every time I saw a blogger in it, it broke my heart just a little bit that I didn't have one. So you can imagine how excited I was when I saw the updated TWILL CARGO VEST online. It fits like a glove, and next to my denim jacket, it's the most versatile piece in my closet. I dressed it up with the lace skirt, but the next day (yes the NEXT DAY) I wore it bowling with jeans and a tank top.
I would also like to thank Chioma of CHIOMA'S EVOLUTION OF STYLE for inviting me to be part of Style It Two Ways. She was one of the first bloggers I saw in the vest (LOVE THIS LOOK) so my mind instantly went to this vest for the challenge. This girl has great style, and she also has fun fashion tips. So head on over to her blog and see the FULL POST of how she styled the original cargo vest.

birthday suit

It’s that time of year again…MY BIRTHDAY!!! I’ve been celebrating for a week now, but on Saturday I had my "main" birthday bash and I wore this Rachel Roy (birthday) suit. I’ve worn the two separately numerous times, but thanks to the strange weather on Saturday, it was more than appropriate to wear a short dress with a long sleeved blazer. Plus the two together, are the perfect mix of fun and sophistication, which seemed to be the theme for the evening.
P.S. You know you’re getting old when the highlight of your birthday is the chicken milanese you had for dinner and not the party that followed the dinner ;) Or maybe that just means I’m a true foodie, which we already knew…

greetings from tahoe

This post was supposed to go up yesterday, but the Internet connection in my hotel in Lake Tahoe was pretty useless. So I still say greetings from Tahoe even though I'm no longer there. It's always nice to return home after a trip, but I definitely could have used an extra day to lay out on the lake looking at the gorgeous blue water, with beautiful mountains in the backdrop. I'm falling more and more in love with California, one road trip at a time. Camping in Yosemite next?
