That's the only way to describe Ms. Carrie Bradshaw :) :) I'm not going to discuss the movie in case people haven't seen it yet, but let's just say, I thought I was doing something mixing florals with stripes. Ha! In every scene, with every outfit change and each accessory added, all I could do was shake my head, chuckle and wonder how fabulous it must be to live in a world where it's ok to wear that. Love her. Love all the girls and of course I loved the movie!

it feels so good to be home
I had a marvelous time on my trip, but there's nothing like coming home to your own bed, and who would have thought I would be so happy to get in my car and drive! I've never walked and used public transportation so much in my life. I could do without both...
So, Boston....I'd move there in a heart beat if I could bring my car and live in Back Bay, and sit on Newbury Street sipping Sangria and watching some of the most stylish people on earth walk by. While I was there, I said repeatedly to the b/f "I need a street style blog (and a new camera)" LOVE THAT CITY! Here are some (a lot of) pictures from day one.
Life is GREAT!
Patiently waiting on my Sangria!
Up the hill and over the pond, on the way back to the dorm...
Primping in the mirror before dinner.
I replaced my Mia jazz shoes for Louboutin booties...
And just like in my previous post, my outfit took me from day to night once again!

pretty in purple
I had to breakout my purple Zara pants for dinner with some friends last week. Actually, I wore the pants all day to run errands but I threw on some heels...
a F21 necklace that I only "tucked out" for this picture because I felt like it looked like an old school chandelier next to the white shirt...
and I swapped out my baggy white pocket tee for this low back American Apparel tee.
And in 2 mins I went from grocery shopping attire, to an outfit chic enough to dine at a restaurant with exposed brick walls and bright red floors ;)
On a random side note, I've started cleaning out my closet in preparation for my move across the country. People have done great posts on their fabulous shoe closets. ..well mine is not so fabulous, but I'm posting it anyway! I got rid of about 30 pairs of shoes, and I held on to about 60 (this picture excludes all my boots and designer shoes). I think I maybe a bit of hoarder :-/
ANY SIZE 7.5 OR 8's OUT THERE??? If so, I have some shoes you may be interested in. Please e-mail (simplychic08@gmail.com) me for more information and pictures. Brands range from Steve Madden to Charles David. Sorry girls, no Christian Louboutin's this time ;)
I'm headed to Boston/NY tomorrow. Hope to be able to post while I am away, but if not, see you when I get back ;)

spelman thy name we praise...
This weekend I celebrated my 5 year reunion from one of the most fabulous and beautiful places on earth, just for women...Spelman College!!!! Please enjoy the pictures that me and the girls took as we reminisced and frolicked around campus pretending to be as youthful and innocent as the day we left ;) Back to regularly scheduled outfit posts later this week...
At the Alumnae Arch where we marched through during graduation 5 yrs ago symbolizing our preparedness to take on the world!
Rockefeller Hall....one of many buildings on campus named after people who were instrumental in the success of the school. Others include the Cosby Center, where I took all my classes, named in honor of Bill & Camille Cosby.
This is Sisters Chapel and it's impossible to articulate the importance of this building to a Spelman Woman, so I won't even try, but the two lovely ladies in the picture are my roommates for 3 of my 4 years in school!
And that is SC...Spelman College in a nutshell.
This is not on campus, but wanted to post the picture of my former roomie with her Kate Spade bag, and Zigi Soho wedges, that I stalked last year to no avail.

RACHEL roy
So as stated in my previous post I had the opportunity to meet the lovely Rachel Roy last Saturday, and she was just dreamy...tall, beautiful, well dressed and soooooooo down to earth!
We shared laughs!
Looked at one another's jewelry....well, technically she didn't look at mine BUT she did tell me that I was "so pretty" AND she said she really liked my dress :) :) Talk about a compliment.
I haven't gotten an autograph since I was 10 and met Another Bad Creation. I don't really know what you do with them and I prefer pictures. But she politely insisted that I take one, so I did and I turned it into a photograph.
Overall, the event was a success (I'm speaking as if I planned it...haha). There was a dj, food, cocktails, a fashion show and plenty of decor that made for great pictures!
O, and there was a HUGE sale going on. I got 3 things for less than the price of 1!This is just a sneak peak of a blazer I bought. You will see it and the other purchases in the future!
Last but not least here is THE DRESS...the dress admired by Ms. Rachel Roy!

leopard on my feet
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO ALL THE MOMS :) :)
I wore this out last Friday night to smoke some hookah!
A bit over dressed for the occasion, but that's what happens when you get dressed and have no idea where you're going.
At the end of the day, I knew that I wanted to FINALLY wear my leopard heels, so I guess it didn't really matter what the occasion was.
zara blazer, thrifted belt and clutch, urban pants, calvin klein heels
P.S. I MET RACHEL ROY YESTERDAY!!!!!!! DETAILS AND PICTURES TO COME....

my met ball picks
Here are some of my favorite looks from this years Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute Gala, a.k.a the end all be all of fashion events!
SJP in Halsotn looking fab per usual. Really loving the accordion pleats on her...
Ivanka Trump...another woman I think is fab times a million! Can I just say that I admire the whole Trump family. She's wearing Versace by the way. I wonder if the front is as beautiful as the back. From what I see here, this is one of the best looks of the night.
Zoe Saldana in Calvin Klein...I'm normally not a fan of the asymmetrical look on skinny chicks, but I must say she is rocking it!
Speaking of skinny chicks, Nicole Richie wears vintage/vintage inspired looks like nobody's business. This particular dress is Marc Jacobs.
Not familiar with Macaulay Culkin's but this disheveled black and white number, designed by Vera Wang, is perfect for a costume gala!
Chanel Iman took a risk in this Michael Kors jumpsuit and I think it worked! I wish more people would have followed her lead and not played it so safe. Check out the woman's face in the back. Lol!
Holy Hotness Kerry Washington...STUNNING! Her dress is Thakoon for Gap (yes, GAP), and if you want it, you can bid on it by clicking HERE!
Last but certainly not least, my fav look of the evening is Kate Bosworth in Valentino. OMG! From the hair to the understated jewelry choices and obviously the dress, I think she looks flawless! This looks makes me want to get dressed up!
Overall, I was underwhelmed in the sense that it's the costume gala and people should take risks and BRING IT. There were some gorgeous dresses, but I kinda felt like I was looking at pictures from the Oscars red carpet. What do you guys think?

i'm an all star!
Sorry about the irregular posts. My last few weeks at work + my b/f being in town = a whirlwind. But now, that I am unemployed and he is gone I should have nothing but time to post. Problem is what will I post if I have no place to go and no reason to get dressed. Hmmm, I guess we will all have to wait and see what I come up with. Maybe I will turn this into a blog about cute pajamas ;)
Anyway, two weekends ago I went to a festival and I was trying to be cute with my dress and my little flat sandals, and my feet have never hurt so bad in my life!!!!
I learned my lesson, and the following weekend I went to another festival and I had to break out the hot pink Chucks! They were a MUCH MUCH better choice for the festivities.
I ran into Target to get sunscreen before the festival and stumbled upon this lovely little skirt. I had no clue Zac Posen was doing a line for Target, and I was even more shocked that a skirt at Target had the audacity to be $50. I didn't get it because of the price, but now that I think about it, it's well worth the money. It is really well made...
